Weather Report

78 degrees and sunny today. Wore jeans and a t-shirt to the park to walk his doggedness and it was just too much. The weather gods want to see my legs. Me, however, I am virtuous and perspiring. No, really I just underestimated the heat. So silly of me. It is after all the 11th of January.

  1. Why do people even own pants there?

  2. Uhhh, presumably to avoid the million in one chance that a NOLA cop would arrest someone for public indecency. Bydaway, am hardcore jealous of your snowsailing. Have seen it on t.v.

    Green, green eyes.

  3. Heh. I meant vs. shorts. But good point - nudity's likely a desirable option as well.

Yes, it certainly was fun. This was my sailing class's second winter trip, and after the strong winds of our first trip we were required to buy safety strobe lights and whistles in case we fall in. Both trips I feared hard conditions, but it turns out excitement and danger really makes the trip more enjoyable.

Mildly related piece of irony: The day after I returned from sailing in freezing, snowing conditions - miles from help where falling in the water can kill you in about 8 minutes - I was kicked out of a spinning class because the instructor considers excercising without a bottle of water too dangerous.

  4. *snort* That strikes me as very funny. World without water.

  5. Yes, we can title the event: The day the World stopped spinning.

  6. Yes, but spinning is good for the world's boohonkas. Get some water and go back.

  7. What are you saying about my boohonkus? (no google hits for boohonkas, 61 for this spelling - doesn't mean this way is right though) I've actually never had a strong desire to be part of a room full of people sitting inside on bikes, needing encouragement to peddle. Add a boohonkus instructor on a power trip and I think I'll pass. I'd much rather jog with my dogs, no matter the weather.

  8. Who knew there was a correct spelling? And, World, your boohonkus is soooooo round. It's a perfect circle. I'm sure the dogs love it. Although, if you're running with them, you're probably getting an eyefull of THEIR boohonkuses (boohonkusi?) which will never be round. No. But then it takes all kinds of boohonkuses, doesn't it?

  9. The weather gods wanted to see your legs. That's about the funniest thing I've read this week. Except maybe for the misprint in the sacred song at Tuesday's Bible study which read, "Take me flesh." Arrr, matey, take me flesh, but leave me wine on the table, ye scurvy dog!

  10. Didn't that song seem to last for days when we had to sing it? I think we should invent new verses which sound basically serious enough to pass for real in some church or other except not quite. (Which reminds me of "constipated cross eyed bear". And now I'm laughing, too.)
